Guitar is a Virtual Acoustic Guitar for the iPhone
Guitar is a virtual acoustic guitar for the iPhone and it is really lives up to it’s name. And by that I mean it really sounds like a decent quality acoustic guitar. This little app is a true instrument with a very usable and musical interface. With Guitar you simply program chord progressions that you can easily save to the built in playlist. You can choose from the chord library of over 1900 chords or you can create your own chords if you need a special voicing or inversion not found in the available chord library. Each chord of your song is assigned to a fretboard button that you press while you are strumming or playing arpeggios on the strings. You can control the dynamics of the strum and loudness of the chords simply by strumming on a different position of the guitar…. just like a real guitar.
Guitar comes with many special features including:
- Ability to choose between picked or finger picked guitar samples.
- 6 or 12 string
- Edit, rename, save, delete songs from the playlist
- Left-handed support
- Pitch bending
- Virtual capo
- Stereo reverb
- much, much more…
We’ve purchase all of the available guitar apps in the store and this one is the most playable for a beginner… and will please seasoned guitar players as well. The ability to program chords and simply strum away is one of the best things about this app. Other guitar iPhone apps require you to hold a chord shape and it is very difficult to do this accurately on the iPhone. As soon as we downloaded Guitar we went searching for Beatles tabs online and programmed a few. I played If I Fell, for my girlfriend and she just about fell over herself. People I have showed this app to are blown away by how real it sounds.

I highly recommend Guitar if you are looking for a virtual acoustic guitar for your iPhone. It’s musical and fun to play. Besides, show me another decent sounding acoustic guitar for $3.99.
